Barcelona Soccer Team

This article is going to be about my favorite soccer team of all times. I remember when I first saw Fc Barcelona play at the age of 12 I fell in love immediately.


They had a very different style from all the other teams and they focused on playing very aggressive and attacking football without being overly concerned about their defense. At the same time they had very high class players and have always been known to have a lot of big profiles in their team. The fact that Fc Barcelona was more than soccer and also had a political ideology they fought for made it extra interesting and from that day on I started following each single game they played.

At the time they were struggling and weren't as good as they are today, but they always played some of the most entertaining soccer in the whole world. They had profiles like Sonny Anderson, Patrick Kluivert, Rivaldo, Luis Enrique, Josep Guardiola (who is the manager of FC Barcelona Today) and Figo. Their defensive skills was never anything to write home about, but boy could they play offensive football. One of the most emotional matches for me ever was when it was the last game of the season and FC Barcelona had to win the match in order to qualify for the Champions league.

A team like Fc Barcelona not qualifying for the champions league was unheard of and because of the missed financial purse of not getting into this tournament they would be close to going bankrupt and would have to sell a lot of their star players.

As mentioned it was the last game of the season and it was against Valencia who were at the time a very strong team and probably top 3 in the whole Spanish league. Barcelona needed 3 points in order to get qualified for the champions league and everyone was extremely nervous. It was a very close match and with 3 minutes left the score was 2-2.

The match went into overtime and there was only 2 minutes left, suddenly out of nowhere Rivaldo (greatest player ever) receives the ball with his chest on the outside of the goal area, bear in mind that there is no real danger here since he has his back to goal and he is very far away from goal. Suddenly he jumps up in the air out of nowhere and scissor kicks the ball, the tensions rises and It is a goal!!! Everyone on the stadium went crazy as he had just single handedly saved the future of FC Barcelona.
